Loki is a Belgian Malinois (Mal-in-wah) or Mal-in-NUT as we like to call him. He was adopted from Broward County Animal Care and Regulation in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida on April 8, 2002.  We have no idea where he came from or what kind of life he had before we met him because he was found as a stray. But we could tell he desperately wanted a second chance at a new life. The small picture in the left corner of the picture  on the right is what he looked like when he was adopted (severely underweight) and the other small picture as well as the large picture are what he looks like today. When Loki first came home, he hardly ever wagged his tail. That was sad. But now his tail wags a lot.  He also smiles.  If you have ever seen a dog smile, it is hilarious.  His top lip actually raises up in the front so you can see his teeth.  He only does this when he is very happy. He was named Loki after a character played by Matt Damon in a movie called DOGMA.  Loki was a fallen angel that was trying to get back into heaven...kinda like my friend Loki here.

Loki has flown to over 40,000 points in flyball since starting in 2002 which makes him the first Belgian Malinois in the State of Florida to reach the flyball titles of FMCh (15k), Onyx (20k), FDGCh30 (Flyballdog Grand Champion 30k points), & FDGCh40.  He is on the verge of reaching the milestone of FDGCh50 and currently is the Number 3 Malinois in the world as ranked by the North American Flyball Association.  He should reach number 2 by the beginning of 2011.

Loki also had a passion for the disc and preferred to catch it when it was 5' off the ground.
